The bus is equipped with the Safe Turn Alert System; two TV monitors to play safety videos; and educational brochures and posters.

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority General Manager Jeffrey Knueppel, Assistant General Manager of System Safety Jim Fox and Assistant General Manager of Vehicle Engineering and Maintenance Ron Hopkins visited the Authority’s Berridge Shop on June 4 to dedicate the new Safety Education Bus and thank shop employees for their work to convert the former passenger bus into a vehicle to be used exclusively for SEPTA’s internal and external awareness safety events.

The bus is equipped with the Safe Turn Alert System; two TV monitors to play safety videos; and educational brochures and posters. The bus is covered with a custom wrap designed by SEPTA’s Communications Department.

“This bus is a fantastic way to show we are all in for safety,” said Knueppel. “I am proud of what our Berridge Shop employees did to make this happen and for the outstanding craftsmanship to turn this bus into a tool for us to use to promote safety.”
