Gannett Fleming Recognized as 2017 Employer of the Year by WTS South Florida Chapter

The WTS International South Florida Chapter honored Gannett Fleming as the 2017 Employer of the Year at its 2018 Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon on May 30.

The WTS International South Florida Chapter honored Gannett Fleming as the 2017 Employer of the Year at its 2018 Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon on May 30. 

The award recognizes Gannett Fleming’s commitment to creating equity and access for women in the transportation industry. The honor also acknowledges that the firm supports its female employees’ participation in professional organizations and provides the resources to continue their education and obtain credentials and advanced degrees.

“Earning this award speaks to our Florida team’s belief in our firm’s vision and core values,” said Luis Casado, PE, senior vice president, Water Business Line director, and Southeast Region director. “Our company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, exhibited by our efforts such as Connected Women at Gannett Fleming and the Future Generations of Gannett Fleming, strengthens our firm with the value of diverse view points and experiences.”

Catalina Echeverri, PMP, project manager, is the Transportation YOU chair and mentorship program co-chair, and Alexandra Lopez, PE, intelligent transportation systems engineer, is the membership chair for the South Florida Chapter of WTS. Gannett Fleming has actively supported WTS International since 2000 and employees participate in local chapters across the country, including in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
