Bus builder Van Hool will set up a giant plant in Tennessee. The site will be operational from 2020.

Van Hool is already active in the United States, in the private sector, where he has a 35 percent market share through his American distributor ABC Companies.

According to information from our colleagues in Tijd, the bus manufacturer will move up a gear in mid-2018 with the construction of a very high capacity plant in Tennessee. The aim of the operation is to respond effectively to demand.

"With a potential of 5,000 to 7,000 vehicles a year, the public market is much more important for buses than the private sector and its 1,500 annual vehicles," explained Filip Van Hool, the bus manufacturer's boss.

The US plant will be a copy of the built in MacedoniaIt must be said that the modular site of Skopje is a real success for the Flemish group.

In Tennessee, such a place will allow phased growth. By 2020, the plant is expected to produce 400 buses per year and should eventually employ a thousand workers.
