ChescoBus Announces Changes for SCCOOT and Coatesville Link Routes

The Transportation Management Association of Chester County announced new fares, which will go into effect on February 5th, for two of their public “ChescoBus” transportation routes.

The Transportation Management Association of Chester County announced new fares, which will go into effect on February 5th, for two of their public “ChescoBus” transportation routes: SCCOOT and Coatesville Link. For SCCOOT, the “zones” have been restructured, resulting in reduced fares, enabling riders to make more affordable short and long trips. TMACC is also adding on-demand stops to SCCOOT, which will allow residents of Kennett Square Borough to have easier access to public transportation.

The Coatesville Link bus will have a new fare that will continue to be in line with the Krapf “A” Bus.

The creation of a new zone and fare structure for SCCOOT, as well as the addition of on-demand stops, comes not only from TMACC review but in response to rider and medical/social service provider recommendations throughout the region. SCCOOT riders will be able to travel within each of the three new zones for a $2.00 (one-way) fare, or ride the entire length for a maximum of $4.00 (one-way).

“The goal of these changes,” said TMACC Executive Director Timothy Phelps, “is not only to make SCCOOT more affordable, but to make popular destinations in Southern Chester County accessible to as many people as possible.”

Chescobus has three routes in Chester County: SCCOOT, which travels from Oxford to Kennett Square, with limited service to West Chester; Coatesville Link, which travels from Coatesville to Parkesburg; and Evening Link, which operates evenings from Coatesville to Exton Square Mall. State funding for Chescobus is provided by PennDOT and the majority of the local match from the Chester County Commissioners as well as municipal support.

Below is a summary of zone/fare changes and schedule additions.  An extended list of fares is posted on TMACC’s website.
