The New Year is a great time to start a new habit to save time and money by carpooling. The Metropolitan Transportation Commission's 511 Carpool Program is offering new carpoolers a free ride or a driver bonus when carpooling with Scoop, an easy-to-use carpool app. Drivers sitting in their car alone lamenting the carpoolers going faster in the HOV or express lanes? Now is the time to add a passenger.

Drivers can download Scoop from the App Store or Google Play, set up an account, enter their schedule and get your first ride free or a driver bonus with the promo code Carpool511. Scoop will match drivers with their neighbors going to or from their work location. For the morning commute, users enter their trip by 9 p.m. the night before, and get their match at 9:30 p.m. For the evening commute, users enter their trip by 3 p.m. and get their match at 3:30 p.m. Scoop makes it easy to carpool with in-app driver and rider location details and communication channels.

Riders pay the driver for rides seamlessly through the app, and 511Carpool will pay for their first ride, so give it a try. Drivers earn money for providing rides and 511Carpool is providing a driver bonus for their first ride given. The cost to ride with Scoop is much less than a service like Uber or Lyft. It’s traditional carpooling aided by technology. Scoop has over 60,000 users operating throughout the Bay Area.
