The Delaware Transit Corporation is saddened by the passing of Addie Pack, chair of the Elderly and Disabled Transit Advisory Committee (EDTAC) on October 27, 2017.
Pack played an important role as chair of EDTAC, a working group that meets regularly to discuss current issues impacting individuals with disabilities that are utilizing DART paratransit services, as well as fixed route bus services. The EDTAC is comprised of riders, DTC staff, and representatives from agencies working with the aging and disability communities. She also regularly assisted with appeals hearings as an advisor and member of EDTAC.
In addition to her service to EDTAC, Pack was a member of Woodside UMC, where she was a Lay Servant for many years. She was also involved with the United Methodist Women where she held offices in the Conference as vice president, Dover District. She was a current member of Prospect UMW in Harrington.
Pack was an advocate for the National Federation of the Blind, holding many offices in the Delaware and Central Delaware Chapters throughout the years, along with being a member of the Kent County Seekers Group, where she held many offices. She worked for several years at the Delaware Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped in Dover and was the recipient of the Brady V. Shahan, Jr. award in 2008.
DTC and the members of the EDTAC are grateful for her leadership and years of service and offer sincere condolences to the family and friends of Pack.
