Known as a mecca for country music and home to iconic entertainers, Nashville is working to take on another moniker: the greenest city in the Southeast. Driven by strong, innovative transit and civic leadership, Nashville is making a significant move to reduce its reliance on oil and coal in order to improve air quality and lower GHG emissions.  An example of a growing national trend that links transit and air quality, battery-electric buses now play a big part in furthering this community's environmental goals.

With Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority's adoption of nine zero-emission, battery-electric Proterra buses, the city is well on its way to achieving these goals while setting an example in urban sustainability.
