Workforce Initiative Now-Los Angeles (WIN-LA) is a ground breaking workforce development program created to focus on creating career pathways into the transportation industry. The event is designed to introduce WIN-LA to prime contractors, small businesses and other potential partners to encourage their participation in the unique program that is designed to benefit the entire region.

Careers include construction and non-construction opportunities in operations, maintenance, administration and professional services. More than 28 percent of Metro’s current staff, or about 3,000 employees, are eligible for retirement so succession planning is crucial to maintaining a viable agency. Metro needs a qualified, trained workforce to deliver its aggressive Measure M program over the next 40 years and beyond. In addition to life skills development, skill set enhancement and educational attainment services, WIN-LA will increase the resources needed for training and placement of “Hard to Fill” positions in the transportation industry.

WIN-LA will take place on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Sheraton Grand Los Angeles Hotel (California Room), 711 S. Hope Street, Los Angeles.
