HNTB Hires Lisa Ives as Senior Project Manager

Lisa Ives joined HNTB Corporation as a senior project manager and associate vice president, focusing on delivery of major transportation projects in the planning, environmental and conceptual engineering phases.

Lisa Ives joined HNTB Corporation as a senior project manager and associate vice president, focusing on delivery of major transportation projects in the planning, environmental and conceptual engineering phases. She offices in Seattle and currently is working on a light rail extension design and value engineering on-call project for Sound Transit.

“I am pleased to welcome Lisa to HNTB,” said James Thomson, PE, HNTB northwest district leader and vice president. “Her experience and outstanding technical expertise will increase our ability to meet clients’ needs and provide infrastructure solutions in the growing transit sector.”  

Ives has 28 years of project management experience in transportation and environmental planning in both the private and public sectors. She has successfully advanced major transportation projects throughout the country, including New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Jose and Los Angeles.

She served as project manager for major transportation projects, including various alternatives analyses, Environmental Impact Statements/Environmental Impact Reports, and related preliminary engineering services. She also has a comprehensive knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act, California Environmental Quality Act, and New Starts/Small Starts processes.

Additionally, Ives has been an instructor for the National Transit Institute’s course on Project Management for Transit Professionals.

Prior to joining HNTB, Ives served another consulting firm as associate vice president and project manager. She worked with many public transit agencies, including VIA Metropolitan Transit, Chicago Transit Authority, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Her previous experience also includes the roles of principal planner/project manager for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority and senior planner for San Mateo County Transit District/Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board.

Ives holds multiple degrees from Eastern Michigan University, including a Master of Science in geography — Environmental and Bachelor of Science in earth science. She is an active member of the American Planning Association, Women’s Transportation Seminar and National Parks Conservation Association.
