rabbittransit has created an awareness video that will help educate healthcare professionals, community stakeholders and the general public on the popular question, “What is Shared Ride?”. The 90-second, illustrated video is the product of discussions between rabbittransit and a group known as “Access to Care,” a committee that was formed to help further bridge the gap between healthcare and transportation barriers.

Community conversations identified a general lack of awareness regarding Public Transportation options, primarily Shared Ride/Paratransit, including how this service can better meet mobility needs.

Paratransit, also called Shared Ride, is a convenient, door-to-door public transportation service available in all 67 counties in Pennsylvania. Paratransit connects people to doctor’s offices, grocery stores, senior centers, and other destinations across each county.

rabbittransit is encouraging its partners to not only view the video, but to share it through their employee intranets, websites and social media platforms in the hope to spread the word to people who may know others who could benefit from Shared Ride services.

This latest video project is also part of a larger initiative known as 3P Ride. 3P Ride encourages rabbittransit and community partners focused on expanding transportation options to better connect people to their community. Older adults and people with disabilities are core partners for project planning and implementation to “get more people to more places, and open up more possibilities.”
