Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) riders have some new voices to help them get around in 2017. Professional voiceover artists, Maria Lopez and Tom Pantaleo, can now be heard onboard all MCTS buses.

Last year, hundreds of people voted for their favorite voices. Only 26 votes separated Maria and Tom.

Maria can be heard announcing all route names, bus stops, landmarks and transfers, while Tom is responsible for letting riders know about important rider messages. Both spent months recording the thousands of words and locations that make up the 60 routes and 5,500 stops across our transit system.

Maria and Tom also recorded a thank you message to all of our riders.

The on-bus audio announcement system is an important tool MCTS uses to make riding easy, safe and convenient for everyone. The system allows all passengers to automatically hear and read the next bus stop and transfer opportunity; in the past drivers had to call stops out.
