The Six Minute Pitch: A Transportation Startup Challenge is a special Young Member Council (YMC) session at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) 2017 Annual Meeting during which selected presenters pitch their research-based concept for a transportation product- or service-based business to a panel of distinguished transportation industry investors and entrepreneurs in just six minutes

The 2017 Six Minute Pitch will take place Tuesday, January 10th at 1:30pm in the Washington Convention Center, Salon A. This year’s teams will be pitching exciting new ideas about innovative urban mobility, traveler information, and asset management to an esteemed judging panel including Emily Castor of Lyft, Jessica Robinson of Ford Smart Mobility, David Zipper of 1776, and Chris Thomas of Fontinalis Partners.

Since its inception in 2013, the Six Minute Pitch has grown every year to become one of the most well-attended sessions of the TRB Annual Meeting. New this year, winners will receive a prize valued at approximately $1,200: a one-year membership to the 1776 Union, a global platform enabling the next billion entrepreneurs to succeed by breaking down barriers & empowering startups to access the resources they need, regardless of location. This year is expected to be the biggest event yet, so interested attendees should plan to arrive early.
