The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) has honored BYD as an AdWheel Grand Award winner for its “Happy Employees Make Greener Buses” video.

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) has honored BYD as an AdWheel Grand Award winner for its “Happy Employees Make Greener Buses” video. The five-and-a-half minute feature focuses on the company’s culture and its commitment to its employees and customers in Los Angeles County, where BYD America is based and currently employs more than 300 workers.

The AdWheel Awards honor APTA members for their outstanding communication and marketing efforts. Of the 11 Grand Awards, BYD was the only vehicle maker or vendor of any kind to receive an award.

"BYD has been making exceptional strides in the communities we serve, improving access to public transportation while protecting air quality, so this campaign was long overdue. We are honored to have been selected by APTA for this prestigious advertising award, and see it as a victory for every BYD employee who is working hard to build the future of transportation,” said Peter Mobley, BYD’s director of marketing.

The California Dreaming campaign and video helped increase the number of people applying for jobs at BYD and created new ways to connect disparate groups of stakeholders, including workers building buses in Lancaster, California, riders around the country, leaders in communities served by BYD buses and other key industry figures.
