Nov. 23, 2015

On Dec. 1, SARTA will celebrate serving Stark County for 18 years.

“When SARTA began bus service on Dec. 1, 1997 there was one goal, to ensure that Stark County Residents had access to a quality transportation system that was both reliable and affordable”, stated Kirt Conrad, executive director.  “SARTA’s goal remains the same 18 years later.”

SARTA is celebrating the occasion by giving away presents on:

  • Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cornerstone Transit Center
  • Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Massillon Transit Center
  • Dec. 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alliance Transit Center
  • Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Belden Village Transit Center

Over the last 18 years, SARTA has grown to from providing 1.1 million rides to over 2.8 million rides in 2014.  SARTA’s services include Fixed Route bus services with a bus route to Cleveland, Proline which includes Medicaid Services, PinPoint, GoLine and Travel Training.

“I am proud of how far SARTA has come, as an agency, and the increasing number of residents we are able to help.  SARTA is much more than a transportation company, we are a community partner working to improve the lives of its residents.  As a community partner, we are proud that our services and programs enable Stark County Residence to maintain their independence”, Conrad stated.
