MnDOT Transit Coordination Workshops Begin

April 21, 2015

Transportation coordination is a cooperative arrangement between transportation providers and organizations needing transportation services. Coordination is a key factor in providing a comprehensive transportation network.

Coordination between transportation providers and service agencies can help fill transportation gaps. That's because coordinated transportation can help agencies provide more rides using the same or fewer resources, make transportation easier to use, and give customers more options of where and when to travel. What's more, coordination can help providers and agencies use their vehicles and other resources more efficiently.

Transit providers are invited to our upcoming workshops to share perspective on what activities coordination councils might do to improve transportation coordination:

  • Duluth: April 23, 1-4:15 p.m.
  • St. Cloud: April 30, 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
  • Mankato: May 13, 1-4:15 p.m.
  • St. Paul: May 14, 12:30-3:45 p.m.

Feedback will help MnDOT, the Department of Human Services, and other state agencies work with the Metropolitan Council and other local governments and organizations to inform regional transportation coordination councils throughout Minnesota.
