SamTrans Extends Survey Deadline

April 8, 2015

The deadline for customers to offer feedback on the SamTrans Service Plan has been extended to April 26. An online survey regarding the systemwide changes implemented by the SSP was originally set to close on April 12.

The survey can be found Online and should take about 10 minutes for customers to fill out. The questions are available in both English and Spanish.

The SSP, the most comprehensive revamping of Peninsula transit service in a generation, came after a two-year study that included more than 40 public meetings and feedback from 1,800 stakeholders. The first phase of the SSP debuted in August 2013, with the introduction of weekday service on Route ECR and the second phase occurred in January 2014, with changes to every other line on the system.

The SSP changes, which include the addition of new lines, elimination of lower-performing routes and alternative community services like flexible routes, were aimed at doing more of what works, less of what doesn’t and trying new things.

SamTrans is now seeking input on the service changes, such as how the changes affected customers’ commutes or how they helped get riders where they needed to go.

A report on the survey’s finding will be released in May. The SSP is a living document that is consistently updated to meet the changing needs of passengers. This survey will potentially help inform new changes to service and scheduling.

Passengers should notice reminders on digital message signs on buses and transit centers alerting them about the online survey.
