STM Adds Service on Line 180

April 3, 2015

The Montreal Transit Corp. (STM) has announced to its customers that the frequency of the line 180 - Salaberry is now increased to week, and since 30 March. Indeed, this line now offers an improved service all day or passages every 15 minutes at peak times, eastbound in the morning and westbound in the afternoon, as well as 20 minutes the rest of the day .

"This enhanced service corresponds to a 50 percent increase in the number of daily departures during the week of this populous residential area of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. This will encourage further movement on the boulevard de Salaberry and Fleury Street, two major commercial arteries. I also take this opportunity to thank the people and organizations who participated in the consultation process that led to the addition of service, "said Philippe Schnobb, chairman of the board of directors of the STM. "Recall that the addition of a candle fire on the street Salaberry westbound entry slip road before the A-15, ensures greater fluidity bus line 180."

"In the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, there are nearly 78,000 daily trips which are provided by public transit. One of the major challenges for mobility is improving travel times for customers. The addition of service on the 180 - Salaberry will make public transit more attractive to citizens of the borough. This is part of our efforts to encourage and promote the use of public transit in Montreal, "added Mr. Aref Salem, member of the executive committee of the city of Montreal and responsible for transport.

"This is great news, especially for residents of the western district. This enhanced service is the result of good collaboration between the STM and the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. I would also like to thank the two municipal officials concerned, Mr. Harout Chitilian, district of Bordeaux-Cartierville, and Mrs. Emilia Thuillier, the Ahuntsic district, who are actively involved in this issue, said Pierre Gagnier, Mayor of the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
