Q'Straint Quantum Now Available to Order

April 2, 2015

Q’Straint announced April 2 that its automatic rear-facing wheelchair securement station, Quantum, is now available for bus and other transportation companies to order. This announcement comes after years of research and development and successful field tests. Quantum  allows wheelchair and scooter passengers to self-secure.

The self-securement process takes less than 25 seconds, and does not require the driver to leave his or her seat to help.

“The time savings alone is a huge benefit. With systems that are not self-securing, the driver has to make sure that the passenger is secured properly and this can take several minutes, which ultimately delays the bus routes,” says Jean-Marc Giradin, founder of Q’Straint. “This system is truly an industry changer – it promotes safety and independence, and gives the passenger a greater sense of dignity.”

Quantum’s launch comes at a time that coincides with the 25th anniversary of the American Disabilities Act (ADA).

“We are very proud to be launching the innovative Quantum, promoting greater passenger independence, and furthering the ADA’s mission,” says Girardin. “As with all Q’Straint systems, the Quantum has been designed with aesthetics in mind, with an appearance that is unimposing and approachable, and as a thoughtful addition to any modern bus. Quantum brings a more human experience to the process of wheelchair securement.”
