Feb. 25, 2015

Miami-Dade County in partnership with Audible Broadcasting Co. announced the launch of a revolutionary new technology and service for the people of Miami-Dade during a news conference at the Stephen P. Clark Center earlier Feb. 24.

Audio Traffic Miami Dade is a newly designed mobile application that will provide residents and visitors with real-time traffic reports, law enforcement bulletins, and community news that can be heard directly from an Apple or Android device.

“Miami-Dade Transit is the largest transit agency in Florida with an average of 350,000 daily users,” said Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “One of my goals as mayor is to use technology to improve the flow of information and subsequently the quality of life for our 2.6 million residents. I am confident Audio Traffic will be an app that our residents and visitors will appreciate.”

Audio Traffic Miami-Dade will have the capability of delivering traffic reports both in English and Spanish.  In addition to delivering audible traffic reports right to your mobile devices, Audio Traffic will give residents and visitors Public Safety and Community Information Bulletins regarding:

  • Information from County Hall regarding County programs and services
  • Interactive alerts about neighborhood or community criminal activity
  • News about civic and cultural events
  • Information about missing and endangered people and children
