Derrick Breun Promoted to Regional Vice President of the Southeastern Region

Mike Murray, president and COO of Transdev’s Transit Division, announced that Derrick Breun has been promoted to regional vice president of the Southeastern Region. Prior to this promotion, Breun served as an area vice president for the same region of the transit division.

“Derrick has been given increasingly larger roles at Transdev building his reputation and demonstrating his talent and leadership in the New Orleans area,” says Murray. 

Breun started his career with Transdev in 2005 as the general manager of the Jefferson Parish Transportation Operations (JET).  While at JET, Breun oversaw a large restructuring effort to combine the fixed route and paratransit operations under a consolidated structure. From there, Breun went on to be the chief operating officer of Transdev’s contract in service to the New Orleans RTA Board of Commissioners.

In his former role as COO at Transdev’s New Orleans contract, Breun played an instrumental role in improving service reliability and quality. Breun helped drive improvements in operational performance in many domains.  He helped implement new policies to increase accountability and efficiency, and was a leading force behind a multi-faceted program that generated major improvements in streetcar and bus safety results.

Most recently, Breun has served as area vice president of the Southeastern Region directly responsible for 16 different Transdev locations. In this role, Breun manages many domains including safety, client relations, operational management, quality assurance, fleet maintenance, passenger satisfaction, hiring, labor relations, budget controls and more. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans and is based in New Orleans.
