MARC, Amtrak and Bombardier Collaborate on Toys for Tots

Dec. 8, 2014
U.S. Marine Corp Reserve and transit volunteers collect toys and monetary donations.

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is proud to support MARC Train, Amtrak and Bombardier Transportation Service in the Annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots drive to be held Dec. 10 and 11 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. outside Gates A and B at Washington Union Station.

MARC and Amtrak passengers are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy or monetary donation during morning and afternoon rush hours, to the Marine Corps Reserve Unit for distribution as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in local communities.

For passengers who do not travel to or from Union Station, there will be designated locations on your train to leave your gift. Please listen for instructions from the train conductor. There will also be a toy collection at the MARC Odenton station December 8, 9 and 10 while the ticket agent is present. The Toys for Tots Program is the collection and distribution of toys in the communities in which a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located. In communities without a Reserve Unit, the campaign can be conducted by a Marine Corps League Detachment or group of men and women, generally veteran Marines, authorized by Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to conduct a local Toys for Tots campaign.
