Nov. 10, 2014
From Nov. 7-30, RTD will provide free 31-Day passes to U.S. veterans and active service members who are residents of San Joaquin County.

On Nov. 7, at a special event just before its November Board meeting, San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) unveiled a special full-wrap bus to honor U.S. Veterans and launched the RTD Patriot Pass Program to provide free 31-Day bus passes to San Joaquin County residents who are veterans or are active service members. The Patriot Pass program is designed to help connect San Joaquin County veterans and active service members to essential services in our community.

From Nov. 7-30, RTD will provide free 31-Day passes to U.S. veterans and active service members who are residents of San Joaquin County. Eligible residents interested in receiving their free pass just need to stop by the Downtown Transit Center and provide valid identification. One pass per person. Offer expires Nov. 30.

The Nov. 7 event opened with the national anthem, sung by RTD coach operator Carolyn Turner, and a color guard from American Legion Karl Ross Post 16. The program included the ceremonial unveiling of the Veterans bus, which was designed in-house by RTD staff and honors the various branches of military service.
