Transdev North America Promotes Ken Westbrook to Chairman, Transit Division

Prior to this promotion, Westbrook served as president and COO of the transit division.

Transdev CEO, Mark Joseph, announced that Ken Westbrook has been promoted to chairman of its transit division. The promotion is effective Oct. 1. 

Prior to this promotion, Westbrook served as president and COO of the transit division, which operates bus, paratransit, and bus rapid transit (BRT) contracts with city and county transit authorities, universities and airports.  This division includes management and operations of transit contracts in 120 locations.

In making the announcement, Joseph said, “Elevating Ken Westbrook to this strategic position as chairman will enable him to focus on leading a variety of key growth initiatives and performance-enhancing programs that take advantage of his vast experience and knowledge of our operations and our business.”  He continued, “Ken has an excellent track record in managing a diverse array of transit operations.  His high-energy, people-oriented leadership will continue to help us innovate and enhance our customer and industry relationships.”

Westbrook has a distinguished career in transit operations.  Early in his career, he was general manager for Jackson, Miss.., and Pensacola, Fla.., transit operations as part of ATC, a well-known private-sector operator of transit contracts.  In 1999, he was promoted to regional vice president of the South/Central Region for ATCVeolia Transportation (now Transdev) acquired ATC in 2005 and in 2007 he was promoted to senior vice president for the Eastern Region of the United States.  In 2010, he was promoted to president and COO of the transit division, which achieved many key growth and performance milestones under his leadership.  Mike Murray was recently promoted to Westbrook’s previous position as president and COO of the company’s transit division.
