Proterra Inc. has been honored as a 2015 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
One of only 24 companies selected worldwide, Proterra is the only company on this prestigious list serving the mass transit sector. The WEF’s Technology Pioneers program recognizes companies from around the world involved in the design, development and deployment of new technologies poised to have a significant impact on business and society. Most significantly, Technology Pioneers must demonstrate vision and the promise of long-term industry leadership, and their technology must be proven.

Proterra has helped cities across the U.S. reduce their carbon footprints and improve the quality of life for residents. Proterra buses have logged nearly 500,000 miles of revenue service in cities across the United States, and their performance has resulted in repeat business from multiple cities.

The meeting, held in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China, brings together more than 1,500 leaders from over 90 countries in the areas of business, government and research.
