Rabbittransit Names Michael Devaney as New COO

Devaney has more than 14 years of experience in operations and most recently served as the senior district manager for Waste Management Inc. within Philadelphia.

Rabbittransit announced Michael Devaney as chief operating officer of the organization. Devaney will oversee operations for the transit authority that delivers transportation for a three-county area including York, Adams and Northumberland.

Devaney has more than 14 years of experience in operations and most recently served as the senior district manager for Waste Management Inc. within Philadelphia.  During that time, he transitioned 85 percent of an active fleet from diesel to CNG and managed an $85 million dollar hauling division comprised of three districts dispatching approximately 150 routed vehicles daily. Previously, Devaney served as the bureau chief of the Bureau of Solid Waste & Recycling for the city of Lancaster.

With a passion for safety and employee engagement, Devaney will champion the core values of the authority which include safety, service and stewardship. “I’m excited by the opportunity to connect my experience to the vision of the organization,” comments Devaney.  

Devaney holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Public Administration from the Pennsylvania State University. He previously received the Secretary’s Award for Environmental Excellence and is originally from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
