Port Authority Police Department to Graduate 249 Police Officers

The Port Authority Police Department will welcome 249 police officers to its ranks during a graduation ceremony on Aug. 22, at the Dunn Sports Center, 600 Pearl Street, in Elizabeth, N.J.

During the 10 a.m. graduation ceremony, the 113th police academy class will be welcomed by Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye, Deputy Executive Director Deb Gramiccioni, Chief Security Officer Joseph Dunne and PAPD Superintendent Michael Fedorko.

This is the largest academy class in the department's history, and will bring police department staffing levels to nearly 1,800 officers.

The Port Authority Police Department is responsible for protecting the traveling public who use the agency's major airports, tunnels, bridges, seaport and PATH system. The PAPD also patrols the World Trade Center site.
