First Transit has been selected by the Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC) to provide Dial-A-Ride services within four Imperial County Cities: Calexico, Brawley, Imperial and West Shores.

Dial-A-Ride is a reservation-based service within each of these cities, provided by twelve drivers using ten ICTC-provided vehicles. Dial-A-Ride provides nearly 70,000 annual trips to seniors and individuals with disabilities. These services, which will commence October 2014, will be overseen by First Transit’s Josh Hood, who will bring to bear his experience as a safety and training manager, as well as his expertise in operations, planning, route development and budgeting.

The Dial-A-Ride services are in addition to the fixed route Imperial Valley Transit (IVT) and the Paratransit (IVT– Access) services that First Transit has been providing. First Transit is part of Cincinnati-based FirstGroup America, North America's largest transportation company. "First Transit is pleased to expand our services to include Dial-A-Ride in the continuation of this partnership with Imperial County," said First Transit Region Vice President Eric Estell.
