Metro Bus is hosting a community food drive from 5-9 p.m. July 23 at the Summertime by George! outdoor music festival. The food drive will benefit Catholic Charities Emergency Services and the Salvation Army food shelves.
Cash donations received are eligible for a matching grant, up to $5,000 for each food shelf, from Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless.
Cash or non-perishable donations may be brought to the New Compressed Natural Gas New Flyer Metro Bus on the grounds of Summertime by George!.
Metro Bus and Townsquare Media are hosting this event with the support of New Flyer, Royal Tire, Mahowald Insurance and Bernick’s Pepsi as food drive business partners for this event.
At last summer’s food drive, Metro Bus and partner businesses collected 3,000 lbs and over $1,300 for local food shelves.
