NY: Charles Reed Joins Parsons Brinckerhoff

Charles ’Chuck’ Reed has been named a supervising communications and security engineer in the New York City office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Charles ’Chuck’ Reed has been named a supervising communications and security engineer in the New York City office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

In his new position, Reed is responsible for the conceptual development and design of large-scale communications and security projects at airports and transit facilities. He has over 15 years of security and communications systems design and engineering experience for various transportation facility and infrastructure projects. His areas of expertise include video surveillance systems, access control and asset management systems, paging and passenger information displays, communications systems, and site-wide communications infrastructure design projects. Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was a lead security and communications systems specialist at a Philadelphia engineering firm, working on a variety of projects at major airports and transportation facilities nationwide.

Reed received a bachelor of applied science degree in electrical engineering from Thomas Edison State College. He is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security, from which he holds a physical security professional designation. He is also a member of the American Association of Airport Executives, where he has served on the transportation and security services committee.
