OH: Metro Earns Top National Financial Honors Again

Twenty-two consecutive years of excellence in financial reporting.
June 27, 2014

Metro has received a prestigious national award for excellence in financial reporting for governmental entities.

The "Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting" from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) recognizes conformance to the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.

In order to be awarded this achievement, a government unit must publish an easily-readable and efficiently-organized comprehensive annual financial report, whose contents conform to stringent program standards. Metro’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2012, also satisfied both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.

This is the 22nd consecutive year that Metro has earned this distinction.
