May marked another month of more than 1 million in bus ridership, as well as a steady increase in bus ridership for MetroRapid with 52,630 bus trips last month.
With 1,238,404 bus trips tallied for May, this marks the eighth consecutive month of serving more than 1 million bus riders in FY2014.
"Our healthy ridership increases are driven by the introduction of innovative services and rider programs that address customer needs," said HART Interim Chief Executive Officer Katharine Eagan. "MetroRapid has quickly become one of the most popular routes in our system."
Just shy of its first anniversary, ridership on MetroRapid has topped the 500,000 mark. Ridership has continued to grow month after month, as the agency's premiere bus service becomes more popular among our riders.
"HART will continue its commitment to invest in the transit needs of residents and continue to move forward with a planned long-term transit strategy," Eagan added.
