The Jule is joining the Iowa Public Transit Association, Iowa Department of Transportation, and public transit systems across Iowa in proclaiming June 15-21 as “Ride Transit Week.” This is a great time to discover new alternatives to your commute while saving time, money and fuel.

With a new route structure and other improvements in 2014, The Jule has seen increasing use of public transit, with record ridership of 46,137 during the month of May. This represents a 14.3 percent increase over May 2013’s ridership of 40,255.

As part of Ride Transit Week, The Jule will host the following activities on June 20:

Promotional Item Giveaways

A limited number of T-shirts, bus pass holders, and sunglasses will be distributed at the 6th & Iowa, JFK Circle, and Delhi transfer points.

Two-for-One Rides

Passengers are encouraged to introduce a friend or coworker to public transit on June 20.  Each paying passenger can bring a guest who will ride free that day.

Lunchtime Trolley Rides

The Jule’s Summer Trolley makes many stops near downtown businesses before continuing to major tourist destinations and city parks. Each loop is one hour, so hop on for your lunch break and tour Dubuque! Open food containers are not allowed on The Jule, so please eat your lunch before or after your trip.
