ON: Al Robinson Named Veolia GM for York BRT Services in Toronto Suburb

Mike Murray, senior vice president for Veolia Transportation’s Eastern Transit Division announced recently that Al Robinson has been named general manager for the York BRT Services in Vaughan, Ontario.

Mike Murray, senior vice president for Veolia Transportation’s Eastern Transit Division announced recently that Al Robinson has been named general manager for the York BRT Services in Vaughan, Ontario.

As GM, Robinson will be responsible for strategic planning and direction, contract management, and regulatory compliance.  He will also oversee administration of the contract’s operating budget for the York BRT facility.

Al Robinson is a seasoned professional with more than 30 years’ experience in public transit management, specializing in operations. He joined Veolia Transportation in 2014 as the operations manager at the York BRT facility. 

Prior to joining Veolia he was employed with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) starting as an operator and working his way up through the ranks to various positions including supervisor, controller, inspector, superintendent and manager for the Yonge-University-Spadina and Sheppard Subway Lines. Robinson also worked with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Aero Engines Technician with 400 Squadron, 2 Air Reserve Wing, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Robinson attended the Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, and Ryerson Polytechnic University where he studied business management.
