KS: Topeka Metro Offers “Bike to Work Week”

Campaign to run in conjunction with Topeka Bike Month events.

During the week of May 12-17, bike riders who use a Topeka Metro fixed-route bus to complete their trip will ride free. This program will run in conjunction with Topeka Bike Month.

“As Topeka continues to make progress towards becoming a more bike-friendly community, we want to make cyclists aware of the option of using the bus along with their bikes for those longer trips across town or to work,” said Julie Anderson, Topeka Metro planner. “We encourage riders to take advantage of the promotion next week and see how easy it is to get around Topeka on bus and bike.”

Each Topeka Metro fixed-route bus is equipped with a bike rack that accommodates a maximum of three bikes. Free rides are on a first come, first serve basis and are limited to the space available on the bike rack. For safety reasons, bikes are not allowed inside the bus.
