The Toronto Transit Commission's new low-floor streetcar will make its first appearance in the annual Toronto Beaches Lions Easter Parade April 20.
Toronto transit history will be made as all four generations of the TTC's streetcar fleet ride the rails together for the first time.
The parade runs along Queen Street East from Neville Loop to Woodbine Avenue.
Toronto's new streetcar, which will begin service on August 31 on the 510 Spadina, will join the parade along with the Peter Witt streetcar, which served the citizens of Toronto from 1921 until 1963 and the PCC streetcar that was the backbone of the TTC's streetcar fleet from 1938 until 1995.
The public will have its first chance to board the new streetcar during Doors Open Toronto on Sat. May 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the TTC's Russell Division, 1433 Queen St. E.
During the parade, the 501 Queen streetcar route will turn back at Kingston Road starting at 1 p.m. The 64 Main and 92 Woodbine South will also be on diversion for the duration of the parade.
