River Valley Metro announced the hiring of Ken Munjoy March 14 as their executive director of marketing.
Munjoy will lead the development and implementation of both long and short term strategies in the areas of customer service and information, internal and external communication, media relations and Transit sales.
“He will play a key leadership role ensuring our community both understands the value of transit and knows they have a voice in identifying transit needs and solutions. The hiring of Ken Munjoy is an important step as we continue to make Metro the public service leader," said Managing Director Rob Hoffmann. "His experience and leadership will be an asset to our organization as we continue to demonstrate the value of public transportation and provide the highest possible quality of service to our community."

Munjoy spent the last decade with the Daily Journal serving the last seven years as their General Manager. He graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in marketing.
Munjoy is originally from Decatur, Ill., and he and his family reside in Limestone, Ill.
The executive director of marketing position replaces the marketing director position that has been vacant since Michelle Brutlag was promoted to director of operations.
His first day at River Valley Metro will be April 1.
