CA: Ake Named Senior VP for Keolis

Keolis Transit America announced the hire of Michael Ake as senior vice president, east region.

Keolis Transit America announced the hire of Michael Ake as senior vice president, east region. He will be responsible for all operational aspects for the company's eastern properties as well as overseeing the business development for the region.

“We are very excited to have Mike join the Keolis team and oversee the east region,” said COO Steve Shaw. “His expertise will be highly beneficial as we strive to bring the best possible resources and support into the region. We are confident that his experience and leadership will help us further develop and prepare for substantial growth in the Eastern U.S. market.”

Ake has more than 20 years of experience in the transportation industry and a strong record of success in safety, operations, client relations and profitable growth. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years and was involved in multiple combat missions, including Desert Storm. Following his years of service in the military, he worked for Greyhound Lines for 12 years as district manager of operations and national operations manager.

For the last 8 years, Ake has worked for Veolia Transportation, serving in capacities including general manager in Toronto and area vice president for the Northeast Region of North America before being promoted to fill the role of regional vice president for the Southeastern U.S.
