Ozark Regional Transit is developing a plan for a new public transit route through the city of Rogers. The route will travel from the southeast area of the city to the northwest area. Connections to the Rogers Technical High School, Rogers Aquatic Center, Rogers Public Library, Frisco Station Mall and NWACC are tentatively planned.

In late 2013, the city of Rogers authorized additional funding to ORT with the intent of increasing public transportation availability throughout the community.

The project is now in the analysis stage, where community input is needed to determine service levels, route alignment and bus stop locations. A public input meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the Roger Public Library on Dixieland Road, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and will be an open-house format.

The open-house is open to anyone who wants to attend, including residents, business owners and other stakeholders or interested parties.

The open-house will feature displays of route options and timetables under consideration for implementation and ORT staff will be available to further explain the route proposal, answer questions and record comments.
