The year 2013 was another exciting and record breaking year for Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA)

SARTA provided almost 2.7 million rides between its fixed route, Proline and MedLine Services. The 2,691,025 rides sets an all time high record for SARTA as the highest number of rides, breaking last year’s record by over 30,000, showing an increase for 7 months.

In addition to SARTA transporting almost 2.7 million riders, SARTA launched several unique transportation services to benefit Stark County:

  • Our new Route 4 transports riders to the Cleveland VA hospital as well as Downtown Cleveland.
  • PinPoint real-time GPS systems for our Fixed Routes.  PinPoint enables riders to track buses, view schedules, plan trips in real time and much more.
  • MedLine a free door-to-door transportation service available to DD Medicaid Waiver Recipients.
  • GoLine Online Trip Booking program that enables Proline riders to book, check or cancel ProLine Trips online.

While SARTA had a year of breaking records Kirt Conrad, SARTA’s executive director, stated, “I am proud of all we are doing and the increasing number of residents we are serving.  We attribute the increased ridership to the various services we implemented last year, riders growing knowledge of SARTA, and the increase in employment and students here in Stark County.  2013 was an exciting year and we hope to continue this momentum in 2014.”
