VIA Metropolitan Transit and the National Arts Program have teamed up to organize the VIA Employee Art Exhibit 2013. This exhibit showcases the artistic talents of VIA’s employees and their family members.

The exhibit will be on display in the Westside Multimodal Transit Center from October 19 through November 15, and the display is free and open to the public. The Westside Multimodal Transit Center is located at 123 North Medina Street, and it is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The VIA exhibit includes recent artworks produced by about 100 agency employees and immediate family members organized into amateur, intermediate, professional, youth (12 years of age and younger), and teen classifications. All mediums were accepted. The artworks submitted to the exhibit were judged by professional artists and visual art professionals, and prizes will be awarded during a ceremony that will take place at the opening reception on October 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (program begins at 7:00 p.m.). The reception will be held in the Westside Multimodal Transit Center.

The purpose of the National Arts Program is to identify the indigenous visual artistic talents of the United States of America. The program works through employees (and their families) of municipalities, counties, and commercial organizations. More information on this program can be found at www.nationalartsprogram.org.
