On Sept. 19, the Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority joined AT&T Kansas President Steve Hahn and city and county officials at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library to bring awareness to the public about the dangers of texting while driving.

The campaign, sponsored by AT&T, drives home the message that no text message is worth the risk…. “It Can Wait!”

Shawnee County residents are encouraged to take the pledge to never text and drive. To date, more than 2.5 million people have taken the pledge and joined the movement to end texting while driving. The website also offers powerful video testimonials from people directly impacted by texting and driving.

Topeka Metro is doing their part by scrolling the message “Texting…It Can Wait” on its buses and exterior bus signs, bringing awareness to the cause.

Make a difference by taking the pledge and encouraging your family and friends to do the same. Topeka Metro will continue its campaign throughout the year.
