The CapeFLYER, in partnership with the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, is making travel to this year’s Bourne Scallop Festival easier than ever.

The CapeFLYER will bring passengers directly to the Scallop Festival fairgrounds. Along with the regular weekend schedule, an additional train will run on Saturday and Sunday from South Station at 10:30AM and return to Boston at 4 p.m.

The Bourne Scallop Festival, to be held on Sept. 20-22, has a proud 44-year history in the community, attracts over 50,000 visitors from all over the world and has been awarded Cape Cod Life Magazine’s “Best Festival Winner.” Passengers who show their CapeFLYER ticket will receive a $2 discount off of their admission.

“The Scallop Fest is one of the signature events on Cape Cod in the fall. The CapeFLYER will provide convenient and direct access to the Festival so visitors from greater Boston can come down and enjoy the rides, entertainment and especially the delicious scallops,” said Thomas Cahir, administrator of the Cape Cod RTA.

Marie Oliva, president and CEO, Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber, stated: “We are thrilled to join hands with the CapeFLYER in providing train service to the Bourne Scallop Fest. Attracting people from the Boston area to visit the Fest on the train far exceeds our expectations. This is another example of the CapeFLYER’s overall success. It’s a great way for people to enjoy a family-oriented event and we appreciate this golden opportunity.”
