Paul Vespermann has joined Atkins’ transit and rail practice as project director in planning and program management group, focusing primarily on real estate and relocation ventures.
Vespermann has 40 years of experience in various aspects of real estate, including appraisal, negotiation, acquisition, relocation, property management, planning, development, and leasing. He has also overseen transit-oriented development efforts, including Atlanta’s Lindbergh City Center, a mixed-use urban community developed around the Lindbergh Center Station of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA).
“Paul has had a successful career leading high-profile land acquisition and relocation projects,” said Dennis Newjahr, Atkins’ senior group manager. “He is an experienced professional whose leadership and decision-making skills have directed some of the country’s most flourishing transit projects.”
Before joining Atkins, Vespermann served as director of real estate for Atlanta BeltLine Inc. (ABI), one of the country’s largest and most wide-ranging urban redevelopment and mobility projects. For ABI, he oversaw the identification, screening, and development of real estate acquisitions. He is well known for his expertise in handling negotiations with a broad spectrum of private developers and public development authorities.
