Anna Xiaohua Wang has been named a principal technical specialist in the New York City office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

A specialist in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and fluid physics, Wang will be responsible for performing analytical modeling and design for a variety of projects, including tunnel fire safety, highway and road design, transit, and water and wastewater facilities.

Wang has more than 17 years of experience in mechanical engineering and fire safety engineering. Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, she was a project manager in the fire life safety and simulation group of a New York consulting firm. She has applied CFD modeling to a wide range of engineering and environmental problems, including fire safety design, smoke control/ventilation, and fire suppression for underground structures, wind engineering and industrial aerodynamics, hydraulics and wastewater treatment, manufacturing, defense, and HVAC design.

Wang received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology,
an M.S. in thermal engineering from Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, Chinese Academy of Science, and a B.S. in power machinery and refrigeration engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
