Kevin A. Pierce has joined STV as a senior vice president and New York operations manager for the firm's Transportation & Infrastructure Division. He will be based in the firm's New York City office. In this role, Pierce will oversee the growth of the firm's transportation & infrastructure team in New York.
Prior to joining STV, Pierce was employed for 25 years at one of the largest technical and management service firms focused on global transportation, building and infrastructure markets. While there, he held various positions in operations, business development, strategic initiatives and client management programs throughout an unprecedented growth period. He also served as the client manager for that firm's work with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
His background includes a broad range of infrastructure programs for transit, aviation, highway and bridge, freight and commuter railroad, port, security and environmental clients, including the World Trade Center Redevelopment, the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Amtrak, the New York City Department of Design and Construction, as well as a host of other public sector agencies, private developers and port terminal operators on both U.S. coasts.
Pierce earned his master of science in civil engineering from Rutgers University and his bachelor of science in civil engineering from Old Dominion University. He also studied earthquake engineering at the University of Southern California. He is a licensed professional engineer in New York, Washington and California, and is a published author of numerous papers on marine engineering and pile foundations.
