Systra Appoints Michael D. Jones Vice President Human Resources

Systra announced Michael D. Jones has joined the company as vice president human resources.

In this capacity, Jones will be responsible for Systra’s U.S.-based human resources program, which includes policies and programs covering recruitment and retention, organization and succession planning, employment, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, and training and development. In addition, Jones will manage the firm’s compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, including federal contract compliance requirements.

Jones is a respected and seasoned human resources leader in the U.S. transit industry. Prior to joining Systra, Jones served as senior manager, labor relations, for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). While there he held a series of ever increasing senior human resource positions, including benefits manager and manager, human resource information. His recruitment skills allowed DART to hire and retain a technically qualified workforce admired by its customers.

Jones is a graduate of Leadership APTA, the transit industry’s highly respected leadership development program. Many of today’s transit industry leaders have participated in Leadership APTA.
