Lurae Stuart has been named a senior principal technical specialist in the Portland, Ore., office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Lurae Stuart has been named a senior principal technical specialist in the Portland, Ore., office of Parsons Brinckerhoff.

In her new position, Stuart will provide client services relating to all aspects of transit/rail operations, safety, and security. She has over 25 years of experience in project management, safety, security, and operations in public transport.

Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, Stuart was with Good Harbor Consulting in Abu Dhabi, UAE, providing safety and security technical consulting, project coordination and logistics control on several transportation projects including the safety, security, and emergency management master plan development for Abu Dhabi Department of Transport and for the UAE regional rail development.

Before moving to Abu Dhabi, Stuart spent over seven years coordinating and managing the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) industry standards development program, which includes consensus-based efforts in bus, bus rapid transit, rail, commuter rail, intelligent transportation systems, security, accessibility, procurement, fare collection technology, and the application of “all hazards” management practices for transit.

Stuart holds a B.S. in psychology/sociology from George Fox University. She is a member of APTA, serving on the security emergency management committee and the infrastructure security group and is also a member of the American National Standards Institute, serving on the homeland security standards panel.
