URS Corporation has named William Harnagel Vice President and Corporate Controller

URS Corporation has named William Harnagel vice president and corporate controller.

In his new position, Harnagel is responsible for overseeing the company’s corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, planning and budgeting, federal acquisition regulation compliance and insurance and information technology accounting. He also will oversee URS’ accounting policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission requirements, ensuring the integrity of the company's financial data and reporting. He is based in San Francisco and reports to Reed Brimhall, vice president and chief accounting officer.

Harnagel has nearly 20 years of experience as a senior financial manager within the engineering and construction industry. Prior to his promotion, he served as senior vice president and controller for the power group at URS. Previously, he was vice president and controller, finance and administration, for the energy and construction division of URS Corporation.

Harnagel received a bachelor of science degree in accounting and finance from the University of Arizona and a master of business administration from the University of Phoenix.
