CommuterDirect.com will enhance ticket buying experience

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) announced MARC Train and Commuter Bus patrons will have a new, more convenient way to purchase tickets with the launch of an online service.

The website offers split credit card payments and renewable orders. It also accepts SmartBenefits, vouchers and employer-sponsored credit cards.

“By consolidating MARC and Commuter Bus ticketing we will be able to provide more options for our passengers, as well as better customer service. This is a win-win for MTA and the people who use our services,” said MTA Administrator Ralign T. Wells.

The newly designed MARC Train tickets and commuter bus passes will feature a new look and go on sale April 1. Weekly and monthly passes for MARC and commuter bus will continue to be accepted for rides on MTA Local Bus, Metro Subway, Light Rail, Express Bus and Neighborhood shuttle Service. MARC tickets will continue to be sold by Quik-Trak machines, Amtrak, and Commuter Direct Ticket Agents.

Commuter Bus passes will be sold at the Odenton and Frederick MARC stations, and in person at the Crystal City, Rosslyn, Shirlington and Ballston walk-in Commuter Stores. The Mobile Commuter Store has locations throughout the Arlington and Washington, D.C. area.
