Vicon Industries Inc. will officially launch Vicon Mobile, its free mobile app for iPhones, iPads and Android phones and tablets, at ISC West April 10-12 in Las Vegas.

Vicon Mobile provides users of ViconNet video management systems with a new way to view live and recorded video from their network — by using a tablet or smart phone. Phones can display up to four concurrent video streams; tablets can display up to nine.

Vicon Mobile can access video from any device on the network, provides full control of PTZ cameras and quick and easy playback access. A simple and intuitive interface includes pinch-to-zoom functionality on both live and recorded video, and video tiles are arranged on screen with a touch-and-drag motion. The app is supported by the ViconNet web/mobile server, which transcodes and streams video to mobile users. Vicon Mobile will be available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

“Vicon Mobile will provide our customers with the convenience and flexibility of accessing their ViconNet VMS from anywhere, anytime, in a way that is consistent with the way most of us now work and live,” said Margie Gurwin, Vicon’s director of marketing.
